Swampscott, MA – TEC, Inc. attended the Stanley Elementary School ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 to celebrate the school’s newly completed infrastructure project. TEC partnered with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) Safe Routes to School Program and the Stanley Elementary School to help plan, design, and build targeted infrastructure improvements that enhance access to the school and upgrade safety features for pedestrians. TEC, teamed with the Toole Design Group, worked directly with Town Staff, MassDOT and the Contractor, Marchese and Sons, to provide engineering services throughout the planning, design, permitting and construction phases of the this project. “We are fortunate to be able to work with a great team of engineers commissioned by MassDOT in order to create safer infrastructure for kids to be able to walk and bike to school which is a key component of the Safe Routes to School Program,” said Massachusetts Safe Routes to School Statewide Coordinator, Erin Reed. “TEC had a very enjoyable experience working with all parties involved in the implementation of this project. Tuesday’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was a very nice reminder of the impact we can have as engineers to make the community safer for the children of the Stanley Elementary School,” said TEC Project Manager, Mike Myers.
