Mitchell Keamy Jr. PE has been appointed by the administration offices of Governor Charles Baker and Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito as member of the Designer Selection Board (DSB). As a member of the DSB, Mitchell will participate in the selection of designers for Public Building Construction Projects throughout the Commonwealth. The Board’s objective is to obtain the most qualified designer for each and every one of the Commonwealth’s building projects, which will improve the efficiency and cost of operation of Massachusetts’s public buildings. The DSB was created in 1980 as one of the reforms recommended by the Ward Commission’s investigation into Massachusetts State building construction.

Mitchell obtained his Bachelors of Science Degree in civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester, MA, and his Masters of Science Degree from the University of Lowell, Lowell MA. He is the President/CEO of TEC, Inc., a civil consulting engineering firm with offices in Lawrence MA and Hampton NH, that provide services to projects throughout New England. Mitchell is a registered Professional Engineer in MA, NH, CT, FL, ME, NJ, RI, and VA as well as an Adjunct Professor at UMASS Lowell. He grew up in Methuen MA, and currently lives in Andover with his wife Susan and their four children.
The appointment to the Designer Selection Board is for a two year term and Mitchell will serve as a “Professional Engineer” representative with the eleven member board. The Public meetings are held bi-weekly at the State Offices in One Ashburton Place, Boston.
