TEC provided professional engineering services for the final design of the Broadway Street Bridge Replacement Project in the City of Lowell. The project includes the replacement of the historic single span deck truss structure with a new single span steel girder bridge founded on a new deep foundation system, independent of the existing canal walls. Significant utility relocations and adjustments will be required, as well as coordination with the National Park Service for the coordination and reconstruction of sections of the historic canal walls adjacent to the bridge. The project also includes updating vehicular and pedestrian safety features on the bridge as well as constructing a temporary pedestrian bridge adjacent to the site to maintain access during construction along this heavily used pedestrian route. TEC was also instrumental in securing the local and state permitting for this project.
The primary goal of the project is to restore unrestricted, multimodal, two-way travel along this section of Broadway Street, while maintaining the historic character of the bridge to its adjacent federal parkland surroundings.
TEC is currently providing construction administration and inspection services for the duration of the construction contract; the project will be substantially complete by the Winter of 2016.

TEC, Inc. provided civil, site, traffic, and structural engineering services for the proposed 30,000 SF Medical Office Building at 321-325 Lowell Street in Andover, MA on a 1.2 acre parcel.
Since 2008, TEC, Inc. has been contracted by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) to successfully manage and deliver the Statewide Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Infrastructure Program under a grant from the Federal Highway Administration.
As part of the Phase 1 and Phase 2 responses to the City’s Request for Proposals process for the interested casino operators, TEC, Inc. prepared a detailed traffic and parking study and conceptual improvements plan that substantiate the ability of the local and regional roadway network to accommodate the traffic associated with the development.
TEC, Inc. provided civil/site, traffic, transportation, and structural design services for the redevelopment of the degraded, 11.8 acre historic mill site in Lawrence, MA on behalf of the Lupoli Companies. The Riverwalk Redevelopment project consisted of the demolition, renovation, and construction of new structures to create approximately 500,000 SF of new or renovated mixed-use space onsite.
