Professional Services Provided: Bridge Engineering, Public Outreach, Construction Phase Services

TEC was the structural engineer of record for five multi-modal canal crossings in Lowell as part of the Hamilton Canal District redevelopment.  The bridges serve as vital access points to this land locked, re-invented mixed-use neighborhood. TEC’s involvement also included extensive coordination with several stakeholders including a well planned public outreach program activating the Jackson Appleton Middlesex Business Resident Association (JAMBRA) neighborhood group. Once completed, the Hamilton Canal District, created by a public-private partnership between the City of Lowell and Trinity Financial, will serve as a rejuvenated gateway to Downtown Lowell.

Bridge Replacement

TEC, Inc.provided professional engineering services for the final design of the Broadway Street Bridge Replacement Project in the City of Lowell.

1265 Main Street

TEC, Inc. provided professional transportation engineering services for the final design of Phase 1 of the off-site improvements to accommodate a 280,000 sf mixed-use site redevelopment project on the former 120-acre Polaroid Site at 1265 Main Street in Waltham, MA.

TEC, Inc. provided planning, permitting, and design services for the 15 acre redevelopment project located on Madison Street in Plainville, MA. The site is located adjacent to I-495 and Route 1 and has previously functioned as an asphalt plant and other industrial uses.

School

Since 2008, TEC, Inc. has been contracted by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) to successfully manage and deliver the Statewide Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Infrastructure Program under a grant from the Federal Highway Administration.

As part of the Phase 1 and Phase 2 responses to the City’s Request for Proposals process for the interested casino operators, TEC, Inc. prepared a detailed traffic and parking study and conceptual improvements plan that substantiate the ability of the local and regional roadway network to accommodate the traffic associated with the development.

Riverwalk Complex

TEC, Inc. provided civil/site, traffic, transportation, and structural design services for the redevelopment of the degraded, 11.8 acre historic mill site in Lawrence, MA on behalf of the Lupoli Companies. The Riverwalk Redevelopment project consisted of the demolition, renovation, and construction of new structures to create approximately 500,000 SF of new or renovated mixed-use space onsite.

UMass Lowell

TEC, Inc.is currently assisting the University of Massachusetts at Lowell (UMass Lowell) with several infrastructure projects as the University aggressively and proactively expands its program, services, and facilities. Our team has been actively involved in executing key elements of their campus master plan including new roadway and driveway connections, utility connections, intersection safety improvements, and improved bus stop access.

TEC, Inc. provided professional engineering services for the redevelopment of a 240,000 sf large scale, mixed-use, historic mill building located in Lawrence. The project created a “new neighborhood” on a previously underutilized site.
