1. What is the best advice you can give to a new employee?
Be a sponge. Soak up as much knowledge in as many areas as you possibly can. Lots of times us old timers have stories we like to tell. Those stories can be long and boring, but sometimes have some good information.
2. What would you consider to be your greatest accomplishment?
My greatest accomplishment was teaching a group of middle schoolers about Tuned Mass Dampers at the Future City competition. I doubt they followed everything I was saying, but they surprisingly picked up on a lot of it. I’m guessing a least two of them will become structural engineers in the future, so I consider that a win.
3. Where’s your favorite place in the world?
My favorite place in the world is along the Danube River in Budapest. I hope to go back one day. It’s a beautiful area and you can stand on the banks of the river and see cool bridge after cool bridge after cool bridge.
